Saying Goodbye: Irma Cujo 1992-2010
May has been, for lack of a better word, an “interesting” month. I turned 39 and I have this great blog I am working on all about being wiser and wise mind but things have been so busy that I have not been able to finish it up. Add in that Jenn (@lawgeekgirl) graduates from Georgetown Law on Sunday, the majority of her family arrives this week, and then finish it off with my best friend dying last night.
If you did not know I am sorry to say folks, Ms. Irma Cujo passed away last night around 3 am. Irma has been my canine companion for the last 6 years and came to work with me @antharia every day. She was more than a dog, and while I realize how much I must sound like every dog owner out there, Irma took her role at Antharia very seriously. A sampling of a few of Irma’s duties:
- Conduct all interviews of potential employees to give them the once over. If they didn’t pass the sniff and wag test that was sure to be a sign they would not fit in.
- Ensure all pizza and food items delivered were not poison before any Antharian consumed them.
- Watch over @jordandossett at all times to ensure that pesky Partner Clients were not giving her just too much work to do.
- Perform Artistic Direction by sitting in chair in all meetings and providing audible commentary on progress and design concepts.
- Attend all staff, client and other meetings to ensure things are running in tip top shape.
Well, Irma did so much more but I am sadly a bit out of my mind with grief. I lost my Mother in December and my best friend here in May. I know it is just the fact of life to live and die, and depending on your philosophy there is no death, or you can go with the age old “they are in a better place” but in a selfish stance I want to give you that I am stuck here in this place, this now, this now without you who has passed.
I uploaded to my Flicker stream some images of Miss Irma for you all to enjoy so please stop by and take a peek. I appreciate all the Tweets and emails and even calls. If you would really like to make a difference, I adopted Irma from PGSPCA and would really appreciate it if you made a small donation in memory of Irma to them. And with all that said I will leave you with an amazing quote that Irma and I came across this last week in our adventures:
If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough. – Thomas Alva Edison
Well, that is all for now my friends, time to get back to our regularly scheduled programs.
