What is the toggle?

What is the toggle?

You may have noticed when working on list pages that a hammer icon /assets/502_fix.gif has shown up.  This little icon is called the Toggle: Active Y/N.  Not intended to scare you (hehehe) the toggle icon allows you to quickly take advantage of the very powerful Active = Y/N feature inside many of the products and modules.

Lets look at some quick examples of where the tool will come in handy:

  • When reviewing content inside of onContent if you find a page that you do not want live but are not sure you want to delete, instead of having to click edit and go to the admin tab, change active to no, then save you can now quickly hit the Toggle icon.  The page will now set to Active = No and the row will shade gray.
  • If you're quickly reviewing contacts inside of onView before a big send or export, if you find a record that appears to have invalid data, don't break your flow to edit individual records. Use the toggle icon to set the record to Active = No, so that it will be skipped in your email blast, mailing labels export, or other reports and exports.
  • When working in OnEvent, if you have a number of sponsors and exhibitors from past events, you can quickly use the Toggle icon to set their records to Active = No, so that they will not show up when you are adding current exhibitors to your events. If a past sponsor returns, all you have to do is hit the toggle icon again, and the record will be set to Active = Yes again, with all the information intact, so that you do not have to enter it again.
